The Gospel in the Begats

When I began reading the Bible as a youth I often wondered about the reason for “the Begats” in Genesis 5 and 11 and again in Matthew 1. For years I rushed superficially through them to get on to the good stories in both Genesis and Matthew. Then one day I made a powerful discovery. The Gospel is embedded in the middle of Matthew’s “begats.” In today’s sermon we focus on that amazing discovery.
