Beginning in 2013, ten people met around foam-covered tables, picked up a handbell for the first time, and discovered that in spite of differences in age, gender and musical training, together they could make music and have a good time! They were relieved to learn that handbell ringing does not require extensive music training. From that beginning, the group has grown into the Green Lake Ringers, an enthusiastic group of individuals who make music with English handbells.
In 2020, when most church choirs were no longer singing together, a small group of ringers met in the sanctuary, donned masks, followed social distancing practices, and recorded music for online worship services. Now we would like to return to ten people meeting around foam-covered tables, ready to ring 3- and 4- octave music. Whether you are an experienced ringer or a complete novice who wants to give bells a try, please contact Shelly LaGrone for further information.
