Handbell ringing is a recent addition to the music program at Green Lake Church. Beginning in 2013, ten people met around foam-covered tables, picked up a handbell for the first time, and discovered that in spite of differences in age, gender, and musical training, together they could make music and have a good time! They were relieved to learn that handbell ringing does not require extensive music training.
From that beginning, the group has grown into the Green Lake Ringers, an enthusiastic group of individuals who make music with English handbells. Current members include people from all walks of life – middle school students, working folks, and retirees. They perform regularly in worship services. With the recent addition of a fourth octave of bells, the musical possibilities have expanded. More ringers are also needed. If you would like further information, please contact Shelly LaGrone.
