Liberation

When Jewish identity, and thus Christian identity, is anchored in the story of liberation from bondage. In his farewell sermons, Moses repeatedly urged the Jewish people: Remember, you were slaves in Egypt before God set you free. Remember, and act mercifully toward others in need of liberation and protection. It is counsel apt for our times.
