Humble Pride

Pride is a tricky concept, isn’t it? It’s one of those words that can be easily misunderstood. We hear warnings against pride in scripture, and rightly so. Proverbs tells us, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” And yet, we also talk about taking pride in our work, being proud of our children, or having pride in our community.
