Synopsis
Doom, disaster, and catastrophe. The early chapters of Isaiah paint a dreadful picture of judgment. Then in chapter 40 the message changes. The prophet offers words of reassurance and hope. Beyond the predicted judgment the prophet foresaw restoration. When we feel overwhelmed with darkness, it is good to turn our attention to these words of hope.
