He Couldn’t Even Say His Name

Look back at some of the most tragic episodes in human history and you will find words and images that stripped people of their basic human traits.  When you think of someone as less than human, you lose the ability to refer to them by their actual name. They become “Rats,” “Cockroaches,” “Animals” or, in the case of the Bible story today, “Samaritans.” Beware of seeing people through a strictly tribalistic lens.
