The book of Job is difficult. What Job faces is incredibly tough, but the reasons and interpretations that surround his suffering make for a difficult, even troubling, reading experience. For many, the book of Job ends with answers that don’t seem like answers—not helpful answers, anyway. What can this difficult and, for many, unsettling book teach us today? How might the Holy Spirit use Job’s famous story of suffering to help us understand and experience God?
