Wanda Griffiths

Minister of Music

Dr. Griffiths has led a varied career as a musician and as an educator. She has served as Director of Music and Organist at a variety of congregations, and has led choral, organ, and hand bell clinics, as well as workshops on various aspects of Music and Worship. She has taught at California State University, (Los Angeles), Eureka College (Eureka, Illinois), University of Washington (Seattle), Trinity Lutheran College (Everett) and Concordia Lutheran University (Portland, Oregon). She has performed many solo recitals and has been performing as part of a duo-organ team (four hands, four feet) since 2002 with her colleague Dr. Stephen Marshall-Ward. She has been a program annotator for the Organ Recital Series sponsored by the Seattle Symphony, and is a Past Dean of the Seattle Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She holds a Bachelors in Music Education and Organ Performance from Bethany College (Lindsborg, KS), a Masters in Organ Performance from USC (Los Angeles), and a Ph.D. in Musicology from Claremont Graduate University (Claremont, CA). Besides serving as Minister of Music at Green Lake, she is the Director of Music and Organist at Plymouth Church, UCC, in Seattle.
