Twice yearly, Green Lake Church broadens its outlook by inviting guest speakers on topics of current interest. Each series comprises four sessions, a vegetarian potluck lunch, and a reception following the last meeting.

Brian Cladoosby

April 10-11

For our 47th Annual Spring Lecture Series, Brian Cladoosby will present three lectures: “Kill the Indian, Save the Man,” “Train Up a Child,” and “That Thou Shouldest Destroy Them Which Destroy the Earth.”

Brian Cladoosby is Chairman of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. He has served on the Swinomish Indian Senate, the governing body of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, since 1985 and has been elected annually as the Senate Chairman since 1997. He is a graduate of Skagit Community College and La Conner High School. Cladoosby has been a commercial fisherman his entire adult life and continues to fish whenever there is an opportunity. He served as the President of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians from 2008 to 2010. Currently, he serves as the President of the National Congress of American Indians (since 2013) and serves as President of the Association of Washington Tribes (since 1999). He is a Committee Member of the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Tribal Operations Committee (since 2008) and actively represents the interests of Native Americans in federal, state, and tribal political forums. In March of 2011, he was named the “Tribal Leader of the Year” by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development at its 25th annual Reservation Economic Summit.
