Fall 2011 Lecture Series
“Mere Longevity: Understanding the Adventist Health Study”
October 21‐22
Dr. Dysinger’s passions are Lifestyle Medicine and Global Health. He has worked in a variety of international health settings, including two years at the Guam SDA Clinic.

Dysinger currently serves as Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda University, President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and Medical Director for Adventist Frontier Missions. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents and in research in medical education and population health. In addition, he has a busy practice providing lifestyle medicine treatments to his patients.

Prior to coming to Loma Linda, he taught at Dartmouth University in New Hampshire. Dr. Dysinger is a 1986 graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. His Bachelor’s degree (1982) was earned at Southern College of Seventh‐day Adventists in Collegedale, Tennessee.

His life is not all work and no play. Among his nonsensical accomplishments, he lists running and completing the LA Marathon (2007 and 2008) and completion of three Ironman Triathlons:
• Wildflower 70.3 (California), May 2010;
• Panama City 140.6 (Florida), November 2009; and
• Vineman 70.3 (California), July 2008.

This will be an informative Lecture Series, with comments and advice for living healthfully for a long time. We invite you to join us for the weekend, beginning with the soup supper Friday evening, and ending Sabbath afternoon with a reception following the last meeting. And perhaps we should give some thought to the food we bring to the potluck Sabbath!
