Lecture Series
Twice yearly, Green Lake Church broadens its outlook by inviting guest speakers on topics of current interest. Each series comprises four sessions, a soup supper (potluck), and a vegetarian potluck lunch.

Spring 2017 Lecture Series

March 10-11

with

Daneen Akers and Stephen Eyer

Note: The Sabbath, March 11, Worship Service Sermon will be live streamed on the GLC YouTube channel.

The Friday evening, Sabbath morning, and Sabbath afternoon lectures may also be live streamed (or recorded) if staff availability allows. For possible live streams or recordings check our GLC YouTube Channel.

Stephen Eyer and Daneen Akers, husband and wife, are the creators of the film “Seventh-Gay Adventists,” a documentary that follows three same-sex couples with deep ties to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The film has been shown around the world and on many Adventist campuses. The film will be shown Friday night, March 10, following the soup supper, as a basis for conversation through the rest of the weekend. Sabbath afternoon, March 11, we will screen their latest film, “Enough Room at the Table.” This film captures the essence of an intense weekend dialogue among Seventh-day Adventists who hold widely varying views on this subject. It will set the stage for our final time of discussion.
